Game Rating: Akanbou +
This game is aimed at people who are learning the Kana. Learners who already know the Kana are more than encouraged to play along.
How to Play and Rules for game are below charts!
Hiragana Song <- Song to see and hear the Hiragana. Hiragana is ALWAYS pronounced the same way.
Kana Lists:
HIRAGANA (For native words)
Japanese read up to down, from right to left. Start with the vowels and work your way to the left. Basically if we took a book and turned it to the right, that would be the direction of reading.
Katakana (Mainly for Foreign Words, You will learn the other use along your studies)
Please Note: the little "scratches" that get placed on top of a kana are called "ten ten", when it is a circle it is a "maru" (which means circle).
Let's get a few personal vocab words out of the way (since I do not know the actual terms, these are MY terms)
Kana Family: According to the charts, a kana family would be a vertical column. ex あいうえお or かきくけこ etc.
Kana Cousin: According to the charts, is the horizontal rows. ex あかさたなはまやらわ or いきしちにひみり etc.
How to play:
When it's your turn, look at the kana posted last. From that kana you can choose either a Kana Family or a Kana Cousin. You may also choose the Opposite Syllabary Equivalent.
Rules:
You can't use a kana that is not a family, or cousin (other than the Opposite Syllabary Equivalent). た cannot follow し, で cannot follow と, ぴ cannot follow ほ etc.
When a syllabary is changed, players must follow that syllabary until someone changes it again.
へ / べ / ぺ - Are special in that they can be considered Hiragana or katakana (since they are the same in both syllabaries)- Thus, they can be followed by either Hiragana or Katakana.
As for ん / ン : Since ん is kind of an odd ball, we are going to adopt him into the other "odd ball" family, the W's わ and を. The only thing ん can follow, or be followed by are its adopted family, or it's Opposite Syllabary Equivalent.
You CANNOT repeat the same kana as the last five posts before you!!
Edit: forgot instructions to get the Japanese Keyboard! x$ for now, Google it and I will get it up ASAP!!
I'll go first and I hope y'all enjoy!
I'll start with simple:
