So since Pokemon Go's release. It seems like everyone (including Pokemon haters) have fallen victim to this craze. It gets you off the couch and out into the real world to play a game with childhood creatures. From what I hear, the version that is currently out is just the Beta, so hopefully it will become bette' (beta/better-pun). Systems seem to be constantly down since everyone, their mom, dog, uncle, grandma, and their sink are all playing the same game. It freezes a whole lot, and yet everyone is still trying their luck at playing. (I don't know about you, but it's ALL over my facebook feed.)
Now, when I say a world united, I say this because it seems to have become so big, that almost everyone plays it, and you can quite literally tell who is a pokemon player just because of their actions, their locations, and the obvious phone glued to their hand. My experience is with my own neighborhood park, that next to no one ever visits unless it's a neighborhood meeting, 4-H meeting, or the hispanic family reunion. (Which if anyone doesn't knows hispanic families... they are HUGE). Today I walked to my park to get my pokestops and saw three different cars pull up and into the parking lot. Just sitting there, not getting out. I walked up to one of the cars, who was parked at the only place I could exit the park, and he ended up driving off. I walked off a little (found the Dratini that was hiding down the road) and came back to see that dude who left had come back. And was now out of his car, in the park, getting the stop that was too far to reach from the road. I already knew and decided the say something "So, if you're doing the same thing I'm doing, I suggest you go to the end of the street." He hesitantly replied back. "Oh yeah? Is there a wild pokemon down there?" (Persons 1, 2 and 3)
Driving down the street to go to a car wash with my dad, we pass three girls walking down the street, all three of them are on their phone "POKEMON" I yelled out the window. I couldn't help it, I was kind of excited. (Persons 4,5 and 6)
My dad was at the carwash and I saw a couple of kids sitting behind a restaurant that had already closed for the day (Conveniently a Poke stop) I saw another car pull up and around the parking lot, and then leave and as my dad and I drove past the two kids behind the restaurant, I made eye contact with them and the three of us smiled while they waved at me with their phones and exchanged some meaningless roars. (Peron 7, 8 and 9). This is all withing a span of 3 hours...
Slowly but surely the nerds are crawling out (and I say this with love as I proudly proclaim myself to be a nerd) I can't wait for the full version, and now I have to ask. What is your opinion on this new game? Have you tried it yet? What do you see in the future with Pokemon Go?
